Xenapp 7.6 – Publishing Explorer launches full desktop

Reading Time: < 1 minute

When you publish Explorer.exe as a published application on Xenapp 7.6 a complete desktop is launched when you access the application.

There are two known solutions on how to resolve this:

Solution 1:

To resolve the issue, create a DWORD (32-bit) setting called LogoffCheckerStartupDelayInSeconds with value 10 in the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI
Caution! Editing the registry incorrectly can cause major issues with your OS. Always ensure you have backups of your system.

Solution 2:

Add the drive letter to the end of your command line within your published application.

Example: “c:\windows\explorer.exe” h:\
