The easiest way to reinstall vmware tools on a vmware server:

1) Uninstall vmware tools via the control panel add remove programs
2) You may be prompted for a reboot. Reboot the server.
3) Access VI client and locate the server you wish to reinstall vmware tools on
4) Right click the server and click install/upgrade vmware tools
5) Follow the wizard to install
