When users open emails, they recieve errors such as the one above. If you’re using Forefront for Exchange on your server, the fix can be found below:
This is a known issue with all virus protection software on Exchange server. You will need to disconnect the Virus protection from Exchange and then reconnect and restart the services.
For those using Forefront for Exchange, the fix can be found below:
Take a backup of your system
1) Stop Exchange and ForeFront Services on your mailbox server only.
2) Access a command prompt
3) Type and press enter – Driver letter here:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server>fscutility /status
4) Type and press enter – Driver letter here:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server>fscutility /disable
5) Type and press enter – Driver letter here:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server>fscutility /status
6) Start Exchange and Forefront Services
7) Stop FSCController, MSexchangeTransport and MSexchangeIS services
8.) Type and press enter – Driver letter here:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Security\Exchange Server>fscutility /enable
9) Restart FSCController, MSexchangeTransport and MSexchangeIS services
10) Test
