Netapp recommended Disk Time Out Value

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A NetApp best practice is to increase the disk timeout settings for Virtual Machines to 190 seconds. This is required so
VM’s do not blue screen if they were to temporary lose connectivity to disks. FOr example, during a cluster failover.

Via registry, browse to the key TimeoutValue and amend from 60 to 190.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk\TimeoutValue to DWord 190.
