You find that your clients are no longer able to login to the front end WHMCS website. They receive the below message:
Error message: Login Details Incorrect. Please try again.
You find, that no client can login and if you try creating a new account, that does not work also. You have sent out a password request using “Reset & send password” via the WHMCS backend, no luck.
A few things you may want to check:
- Have you recently changed your .htaccess file? If yes, revert the changes and try again
- Have you recently upgraded the version of WHMCS? If yes, check that the theme you use has an updated version released. If you’re using a free theme, i would recommend going for a premium theme. Premium themes include support and cost from $40 – $100. You may also find that if using a free theme which is no longer being updated, drop menu’s on your website may stop working. But the drop down menu issue could also be related to .htaccess changes as mentioned in point 1 above
- If you have upgraded or changed template, clear templates cache via your WHMCS panel, by clicking Utilities > System > Empty Template Cache
- If on shared hosting check that the hosting provider has not enabled MySQL strict mode
If using v7.2+, access the admin area, click Help > System Health Status and you may be able to check if strict mode is enabled.
Hope this helps
