Scheduled job with Backup Exec showing as superseded

The above usually occurs when a template rule is used specifying  ‘If start times conflict, template A supersedes template B’

An easy fix to resolve this, is to change the ‘effective date’ with the job.

1) Modify your job
2) Click ‘Schedule’
3) Click ‘Edit Schedule Details’
4) Click ‘Effective Date’
5) Change the date to todays or the date you wish to next run the backup.

The job was automatically canceled because it exceeded the job’s maximum configured

To resolve:

Within the job properties, under priority and availability, see the available Window setting options. If you don’t want a limit on the job
the box should be unchecked.

Symantec Backup Exec Cancel Pending

When cancelling a backup job, you find that the job remains stuck on cancel pending. When you attempt to restart
backup exec services, the services stop responding or stay stuck with status stopping.

If you come across a cancel pending job, try the below: (Please note, this will cancel all active jobs)

1) Open Symantec Backup Exec
2) Click Tools
3) Click Backup exec services
4) Click Restart all services
5) In most cases, you will find that bengine service hang. If this happens, access task manager and end the process bengine
6) The restart of services process will continue
