Sage 50 HR Backup Fails

Some anti-virus software can cause your Sage 50 HR backup to fail and the program to lock up. At least during backup, you should deactivate on-access scanning of the Sage 50 HR share and the Sage MySQL temporary folder. These are usually located as follows:

Windows XP – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sage\HR
Windows 2000 – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sage\HR
Windows Server 2003 – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sage\HR
Windows Vista – C:\Program Data\Sage\HR

Temporary folder

Windows XP – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Temporary SageMySQL Files
Windows 2000 – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Temporary SageMySQL Files
Windows Server 2003 – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Temporary SageMySQL Files
Vista – C:\Program Data\Temporary SageMySQL Files
